Job Description

Assystem are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer – Controls and Instrumentation to work on our customers site in Derby on a 6-month contract basis. 

In this role, you will be responsible for performing Electrical installations, repairs and maintenance on Production Assets including but not limiting to CNCs, Chemical Processing Plant, Welding and Machining Assets, and Heat Treatment Assets. This role is key to ensure site compliance with Nuclear Licence Conditions..  

 

Role Details: 

Job title: Maintenance Engineer – Controls and Instrumentation

Hours: 37 hours per week  

Duration: 6 months

Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella - INSIDE IR35

 

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks  across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production & experimental equipment across a plant, site or business,  ensuring that all outputs are safe, available and capable for use when required.

  • Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience.

  • Use drawings &  data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards capable electrical systems

  • Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required. Read and interpret machinery and plant drawings, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable customer requirements to be met.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to electrical procedures. Research and implement improvements.

What we are looking for in applications: 

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant Electrotechnical time served apprenticeship

  • Current BS7671 Certificate (currently 18th Edition)

  • CompEx certification scheme Ex01 – 04

  • Good understanding of Electrical Installations and maintenance operations

  • Understanding of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations”.

 

**Security clearance**  

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. 

Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country
