Staff / Contract (Inside IR35)

The Study Managers will be accountable for the following:

• Delivery of the Study Brief
• Delivery of Study/Studies to cost and schedule.
• Development of the most efficient study delivery methods.
• Defining the Study delivery strategy, programmes and estimates.
• Approve deliverables, strategies, schedule and cost estimates.
• Supporting the business in decision making, the use of business systems and leading the passage of study deliverables through governance
• Communication of threats and opportunities.
• Putting in place and maintaining effective communications with stakeholders.
• Putting in place arrangements for reporting, progress monitoring and to control scope / costs against agreed baseline
• Supporting the client (study brief owner) during passage of study deliverables through strategic and financial governance
• Generation and definition of success criteria aligned to business needs that support assessment and evaluation (how/why/what/benefit)
• Management of study delivery risk management
• Driving creativity and innovation in solutions to problems.
• Research, investigation and examination of data, establishment of the facts and making recommendation as part of the study output
• Ensuring appropriate standards and practices are deployed.
• Ensuring that deliverables and solutions are safe, legal and adequately underpinned.

• Suitable experience and track record in performing all of the above tasks in the role description
• An open mindset and experience of producing and developing optioneering / building scenarios within Studies
• Provision of justifications to underpin scenarios and allow informed preferred way forward selections to be made
• Effective Stakeholder Management and communication skills
• Proactive and being able to identify early and offer solutions to any issues that may arise
• Demonstrable experience of leading teams

Experience of the following would be valuable to the study team:

• Waste management techniques (handling, storage, treatment, transport)
• Management of special nuclear materials
• Value management
• Requirements Management
• Facilitation
• Waste Retrieval and active area POCO
• Active area decommissioning
• Spent Fuel Management (Transport and Storage)

Security clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
