Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager, the Risk Analyst will be able to coordinate the identification, capture, analysis and reporting of project risks. Have sufficient technical knowledge of project management in order to operate in a project control capacity on assignments of limited scope. Role holders use existing project risk management methodologies, process and procedures and work in line with existing Operating Procedures. They are responsible for adhering to a project risk management plan and assist in the maintenance and tracking of project risks. They support risk identification, exercising judgement and knowledge of project requirements, organisational processes and procedures to determine risk exposure. Ideally able to set up and run Schedule risk Models and cost risk Models using proprietary software (eg Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk) The role holder will act as an individual contributor with the ability to work independently utilising a developed understanding of the business. Individuals liaise with customers/stakeholders within their area of scope and take account of their levels of influence and particular interests.
Driving licence and own transport will be beneficial as travel to allocated site location in West Central Scotland will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Self-checking of Risk Management activities, and support (as required) to the quality checking of other team members Risk Management outputs
- Prepare and deliver risk management data for KAD and Client Assurance reviews
- Compliance with the Project Risk Management Plan (RMP) and associated documents
- Timely delivery of risk management activities to a high-quality standard
- Recognising, understanding, and encouraging personnel to understand the importance of risk management to project/site safety and security
- Displaying professional collaborative behaviours and leading by example
- Promoting the use of risk management across the work scope to facilitate successful delivery of contractual objectives
- Ensuring the Senior Risk Manager is provided sufficient time to review and comment on all risk outputs prior to their delivery to all stakeholder and / or assurance review meetings
- Train and coach staff to ensure :
- The project risk management framework is understood and complied with
- Stakeholders can clearly define the threats and opportunities surrounding the delivery of their work scope
- Stakeholders can identify risks using standard risk assessment tools, techniques and processes.
- Stakeholders can support the analysis of risks using applicable quantitative techniques in accordance with Risk Management processes
- Able to conduct timely reviews of all threats and opportunities in the risk register, including threat treatment strategies in order to update, eliminate, reduce
- Consultation with all stakeholders on a formal and informal basis to collect and record new threats and opportunities in the risk register
- Delivery of risk management periodic reporting requirements to an excellent standard
- Documenting work and reviewing documentation developed by other staff members to ensure consistency with the risk management process
My profile
Qualification, Special Skills or Experience:
- Relevant academic (e.g. BSc/MSc) or vocational qualification (HNC/HND) with related professional experience.
- Basic experience of Project Management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – promoting the wider public good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally and socially appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of project teams and the organisation.
- In-depth knowledge and application of project risk management methodologies, processes and systems.
- Good written and oral language skills in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area.
- Ability to apply policy & procedure, standards and working practices appropriate to allotted tasks and associated documentation.
- Knowledge and understanding of problem solving and risk management techniques
SC Clearance required ( pending will be accepted). Sole UK national. Staff or Umbrella Contract. Hybrid working 2-3 days per week in a Glasgow office. Must be prepared to travel to client site when required.
