Finding solutions to climate change is the priority of the 21st century, and means switching to low-carbon energy. At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. To achieve this, our 7,500 Switchers combine their historical engineering expertise and project management with digital technologies.


In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

Are you ready to make a significant impact in Defence infrastructure? As a Structural Engineer, you’ll be pivotal in shaping the future, ensuring our facilities remain robust and secure.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Nuclear Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents.

  • Lead design changes and concessions.

  • Present design justifications to safety committees.

  • Create and maintain Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing schedules.

  • Provide technical advice to stakeholders.

  • Conduct Independent Technical Reviews.

My profile

 

  • Essential: HNC in Civil Engineering and basic health and safety training.

  • Desirable: Chartered Engineer status, nuclear safety case training.

Experience:

  • Essential: Experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in the UK nuclear industry.

  • Proficiency in design and assessment of industrial and maritime structures.

  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and IT tools.
