Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission
This role supports the Systems team by delivering mechanical engineering design for a major nuclear power station.

You’ll ensure mechanical systems are safe, efficient and integrated across disciplines.

Your future team coordinates across layout, civil and procurement to ensure all mechanical requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Size mechanical components including pumps, fans, tanks, pipework and valves
  • Perform thermal-hydraulic modelling using in-house and commercial tools
  • Ensure 3D design models align with intended mechanical system functionality
  • Develop and update system P&IDs and component datasheets
  • Define technical specifications and support procurement documentation
  • Review and verify supplier documentation for design consistency
  • Contribute to Engineering Change activities related to mechanical systems
  • Participate in system gate reviews and stakeholder coordination meetings

 

My profile

🛠 Essential Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–5 years’ mechanical design experience in a regulated environment
  • Skilled in thermal-hydraulic analysis and equipment specification
  • Ability to review and update 3D models and P&IDs
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Effective communicator—both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working with Navisworks and Microsoft Office
  • Proven experience working to engineering processes and quality standards

✔️ Desired Skills

  • Understanding of nuclear safety classification for mechanical equipment
  • Experience working in a live industrial or nuclear facility
  • Familiarity with design interfaces across civil, layout and I&C
  • Basic understanding of I&C integration within mechanical systems
  • Technical documentation skills in French (reading/writing)
