🚀 Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! 🚀The role is an exciting opportunity to join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. Day to day you will be responsible for the development of thermo-fluid mechanical systems, critical to the delivery of modular nuclear and fusion projects.

Your mission:

🔧 Managing a dynamic single discipline team to ensure smooth operations and maximum efficiency.
🔍 Specifying top-notch fluid systems equipment, from powerful pumps to high-performance heat exchangers, ensuring optimal functionality.
📊 Undertaking intricate system characterisation calculations and modeling to conquer head losses and transient flow phenomena like a pro!
🛠️ Responsible for the professional production of mechanical engineering output, meticulously crafting models, drawings, reports, and calculations to drive design excellence.
📝 Producing meticulously accurate, professionally formatted, and visually stunning documentation that showcases our engineering prowess.
💡 Formulating and implementing ingenious solutions to emerging challenges, proving their worth through meticulous optioneering and innovative design techniques.
🔄 Altering and refining designs with precision to perfectly match customer requirements and exceed expectations.
🤝 Liaising closely with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal project outcomes.

My profile

  • 🎓 Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 🌟 Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
  • ⚙️ Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
  • 🖥️ Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
  • 📐 Strong mathematical skills: Experienced with MathCAD software.
  • 📝 Skilled in producing technical reports: Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
  • 🏭 Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
  • 🔄 Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.

Additional Information:

  • 📏 Familiar with European and Offshore standards: Experience with Eurocode 3 and DNV.
  • 🎓 Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 🖼️ Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
  • 📋 Proficient in verifying engineering documentation: Manual calculations, reports, etc.
  • 🧮 Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills: In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench is desirable.
  • 📊 Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA: Familiar with DNV and Eurocodes.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must meet UK security clearance criteria.
