Job Description

🚀 Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! 🚀 You will join an expanding team to support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients based around our Sunderland office. The role supports Hybrid working. 

Your mission:

🔩 Leading project tasks: Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
🛠️ Producing engineering solutions: Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
📢 Communicating progress: Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
🌟 Mentoring: Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
⏱️ Managing time: Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

My profile

  • 🎓 Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 🌟 Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
  • ⚙️ Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
  • 🖥️ Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
  • 📐 Strong mathematical skills: Experienced with MathCAD software.
  • 📝 Skilled in producing technical reports: Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
  • 🏭 Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
  • 🔄 Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.

Additional Information:

  • 📏 Familiar with European and Offshore standards: Experience with Eurocode 3 and DNV.
  • 🎓 Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 🖼️ Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
  • 📋 Proficient in verifying engineering documentation: Manual calculations, reports, etc.
  • 🧮 Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills: In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench is desirable.
  • 📊 Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA: Familiar with DNV and Eurocodes.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must meet UK security clearance criteria.
