Job Description

The project is in the feasibility design phase prior to Appraise and Select. The Mechanical Engineer will be required to support the design through initial feasibility studies, requirements capture, optioneering, concept level design phases of the project.
Will be required to work closely with the multidiscipline design team and other stakeholders.
Will be required to produce or check Engineering design deliverables such as specifications, layout drawings, Mechanical Flow Diagrams, scoping calculations, reports and risk assessments.

- Mechanical Engineer with design background
- Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry
- Experience in production of functional specifications and requirements capture
- Experience in front end design phases e.g. studies/ concept/ optioneering and down-selection/ Appraise and Select
- Experience in encapsulation/grout plants within the nuclear industry
- Experience in nuclear Safety Cases and substantiation.
- Recent experience of piping design/process equipment (e.g. pumps) within the nuclear industry.
- Recent experience of Mechanical handling design within the nuclear industry.
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be need to be UK nationals and able to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
