Job Description
Role title – Inspector
Contract duration – 6 months
Contract type – PAYE via Umbrella – INSIDE IR35
Hours – 37 hours, Split between Nights, Afters + Days (overtime achievable)
Location – Derby
Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a number of Inspectors to work at one of our major clients in Derby on a 6 month contract basis.
You will play a key role in contributing to the clients business objective of delivering systems, products and components on time to the customer. Whilst operating in accordance with safety requirements, within established procedures and in compliance with the documented method of manufacture. Applying appropriate Health and Safety practice and maintaining a safe environment against stringent requirements at all times is vital. Working as part of an integrated team to achieve cell targets is critical to success, you will also need to focus on continuous improvement across the products and processes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work to Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality Inspection across a variety of different components and product families
- Maintaining a high level of process compliance and sustainment, including calibration of gauges and measurement equipment
- Operate a variety of manual and digital inspection equipment, including CMM, articulated arms/ laser tracker, Borescopes and 1st principal measurements
- Interpreting manufacturing drawings and written specifications
- Assessing components produced within the facility against quality standards
- Working within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan
- The ability to make decisions giving suitable justifications for your conclusions
- Working within a team to effectively resolve any issues which arise
- Working closely with internal and external customers to continuously improve business performance
My profile
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and/or experience:
- NVQ Level 3 engineering apprenticeship (inspection related)
- Experience in 1st Principle bench inspection
- Experience in operating CMM’s and/or Articulated Arms/ Laser Trackers
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration requirements, dimensional and visual inspection
- An ideal candidate would be pro-active and capable of managing their time effectively
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Awareness of HS&E requirements
