Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining data projects throughout the business. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and applications to support our data-driven business decisions, and will engage with customers to gather requirements and set expectations throughout project lifecycles
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement reliable, high-performance data pipelines and low-code web applications to deliver customer outcomes
- Build and maintain data infrastructure and database systems that enable efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval
- Develop and maintain data processing and validation systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Collaborate with other teams to understand business requirements and design solutions that meet their needs
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and provide necessary data infrastructure and tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality and performance
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and data management
Desirable Skills
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
- Experience of working within an Agile / DevOps team
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
My profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, application development or a related field
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data integration tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and SQL
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, T-SQL, PG-SQL, Ruby, etc.
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
