Job Description

Position: Client-Based Project Manager

Location: Glasgow or HMNB Clyde (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Reporting to: Client Senior Project Manager

Overview:

The Client-Based Project Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering assigned work packages utilizing the NEC4 contract framework, under the direction of the Client Senior Project Manager. This position involves managing varied packages of work, encompassing civils, structural, M&E, or marine engineering, within a challenging yet rewarding delivery environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a diverse team to deliver benefits to the Client.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders utilizing strong communication skills.
  • Navigate through conflicts effectively through negotiation.
  • Ensure overall performance of assigned work packages, including:
    • Delivery in accordance with NEC4 contract conditions.
    • Cost and schedule performance.
    • Risk management.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Available to work in Glasgow or HMNB Clyde (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).
  • Active SC clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.
  • Experience in engineering design, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading projects as a Project Manager in a highly regulated industry.
  • Full lifecycle experience from business case approval to handover.
  • Proficiency in NEC4 ECC and NEC4 PSC (3 years’ experience).
  • Experience in change control and risk management.
  • HND in a related engineering/manufacturing/construction/project management discipline or relevant experience.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • NEC4 ECC Accredited Project Manager.
  • Association for Project Management Registered Project Professional.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
  • Degree in a related engineering/construction/project management discipline.
  • Previous experience in marine/defense/oil and gas industries.
  • Chartership in a related discipline.
  • Experience with CEMAR.
