Job Description
Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a number of Buyers to work at Rolls Royce site in Derby on a contract basis.
You will be responsible for the in-contract management of your designated suppliers, providing continuity of supply and required levels of technology, quality, cost and delivery performance. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sourcing activities are in line with the defined purchasing processes, which will include the raising and management of all purchase documentation within the appropriate system.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supplier Relationships – Where designated, responsible for the effective day to day management of partners and suppliers.
- Cost Management – Work with suppliers to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities in line with agreed contracts with deployment of relevant cost models.
- Strategic Sourcing – Where designated, will support the execution of sourcing and commercial activities to maximise the value proposition across designated commodities / categories. Will be able to gain a fact based understanding of current supply base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets.
- Strategy – Support the development and deployment of relevant integrated commodity / category / supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the designated supply chain(s). Work collaboratively, as part of a highly skilled cross functional teams to ensure that strategies meet the needs of current and future manufacturing processes.
- Quality & Delivery – Where designated, select a supply chain capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and ensuring the management and rectification of quality and delivery issues.
- Processes and Procedures – Accountable for compliance to company policies, processes and procedures, ensuring all purchasing records and documentations are correct and maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
- Resource Management – You will support the embedding and the sustainment of a high performance culture within your teams(s).
- Programme management – You will have good planning and project management skills that are able to develop comprehensive workable solutions in complex situations and will support the deployment of risk management practices to assess, communicate and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Stakeholder Management – Nurture effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to support functional priorities.

- Has a proven track record of delivering results.
- Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
- Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Good planning / project management skills
