Job Description

The successful Accounts Assistant applicant will be joining the team in our Blackburn office, working on a hybrid basis with 2 days a week in the office as a minimum, with the option of 3 working from home. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following key duties:

  • General receipting of purchase orders and accrual receipting
  • Process contractor timesheets and expenses
  • Post contractor invoices
  • Maintain contractor payment remittances
  • Support with preparation of sales invoicing
  • Supporting the contractor payment runs
  • Release sales invoices
  • Post purchase ledger invoices
  • Cover holidays and team absence
  • Support with the checking of staff expenses and monthly expense payment run
  • Dealing with various queries in inboxes (receipt, expense, PL)
  • Weekly reports sent to umbrella companies for hours to invoice

  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office (Predominantly Word and Excel)
  • Data inputting experience
  • Great attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise your own workload, and contractors, to meet weekly deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • A forward thinker, capable of problem solving when required
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Experience of using Hive will be beneficial along with some experience of handling expenses
