Assystem, Europe's leading independent nuclear engineering company, announces the extension of its collaboration with Dassault Systèmes in the nuclear engineering sector. Together, Assystem and Dassault Systèmes aim to improve the management and industrial performance of complex engineering projects thanks to the use of digital technologies.

The construction of high-power reactors as well as the acceleration of next generation reactor demonstrators (SMR and fusion) is enabling new decarbonised electrification programmes to be launched and this is resulting in numerous projects and the arrival of new players accessing the nuclear sector.

After a first partnership in 2016, Assystem deployed Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform in its nuclear design offices to address more complex projects with greater efficiency.  Through this extended collaboration, Assystem will specify and integrate the 3DEXPERIENCE platform digital solutions with its customers to improve the efficiency of nuclear projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. These solutions will focus on:

  • Controlling product configuration and the impact of changes,
  • Improving the management of project interfaces and technical scopes,
  • Accelerating the integration of the supply chain.

Integrated with Assystem's digital offering, these solutions will make the initial development and licensing phases, as well as the implementation and handover phases, more reliable.

The partnership between Assystem and Dassault Systèmes offers methodological and technological support that will accelerate the deployment of digitalization programs for large and complex engineering projects to improve their operational excellence. This is a crucial issue for developing a low-carbon electricity mix, made up of nuclear and renewable energies, and for successfully completing the global energy transition," says Christian Jeanneau, SVP in charge of Digital at Assystem.

"Dassault Systèmes has developed a unique experience in project and lifecycle management of nuclear facilities, and has already successfully collaborated with Assystem on major projects. This extension of our collaboration will increase our impact, at a time when nuclear programmes are multiplying and aiming to decarbonise energy and reduce material dependency," said Florence Verzelen, Executive Vice President, Industry, Marketing and Sustainability at Dassault Systèmes.
