CONTEXT AND CHALLENGES

The western region of Saudi Arabia has launched two new large-scale wind energy projects which span a combined area of 475 km². These initiatives are a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) and directly support the goals of Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the energy mix and promote sustainability.

With secured land, strong wind resources, grid integration readiness, and compliance with international standards (including those from global financial and environmental institutions), the projects are strategically positioned for utility-scale deployment.

In this context, Assystem was mandated to conduct pre-development studies, including permitting support, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise to accelerate project readiness.
