Assystem Sponsors Women in Nuclear Global Conference 2025
9 July 2025
Assystem will be a partner sponsor for the Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global Conference, taking place in London from 14-16 July for the 2025 edition. As a WiN UK Charter Signatory company, Assystem is a committed to helping the nuclear sector reach 40% female representation by 2030.
Since 2010 Assystem has invested in its Incrediblewomen programme, where actions are aimed at recruiting, retaining and developing women into senior leadership roles. This investment is intended to mitigate the impact of critically low numbers of women entering STEM industries. Actions such as awareness campaigns, STEM activity, coaching, mentoring and new flexible working and family friendly policies have increased the number of women by 10% in Assystem’s UK business since 2021, with women now representing 30% of the workforce and 40% of the management team.
The WiN global conference is a key event in the nuclear sector calendar as it helps to raise the profile of women’s contributions to nuclear and gives early career talent and global female sector leaders the opportunity to collaborate and act on how to increase the number of women working in the sector to create a more gender-balanced STEM future.
As part of this year’s conference programme, Hannah Thompson, Assystem’s Safety & Risk Operations Director will participate in the panel discussion “Empowering Change: Exploring the Impact of Mentoring”, where Hannah will share insights on building a strong professional presence in STEM industries.
Women are vital to building a culture of excellence in nuclear, but we still have work to do to reach the UK’s target of 40% representation by 2030. Assystem is taking real steps to help meet this target and our recent conference on INWED - Engineering the Future: Women leading STEM and our continued engagement with Women in Nuclear is clear evidence of our action and our belief that nuclear is an attractive sector where women can thrive and lead”
