From April 23 to 25, 2025, Assystem participated in the ITER Business Forum in Marseille, an international event dedicated to the ITER project, a symbol of global scientific and industrial collaboration to bring forth the energy of the future: fusion energy.

A Presence Marked by Innovation and Commitment

After a six-year absence, this new edition of the forum was an opportunity for Assystem to reaffirm its historical commitment alongside ITER. For the past 20 years, we have been supporting this project with rigor, passion and expertise, drawing on our skills in engineering, project management and digital services tailored to its unique technological challenges.

During the event, our teams welcomed many visitors to the Assystem stand, offering immersive demonstrations that showcased concrete applications related to the ITER project.

  • An augmented reality experience allowing exploration of a Port Cell (an access area aligned with the Tokamak reactor).
  • A virtual reality simulation of a maintenance operation, integrating real-time calculation of theoretical radiation doses received by an operator during the scenario.

A Human, Technological, and Sustainable Adventure

Assystem was also represented at the official conferences by Bernard Blanc, Director of Nuclear Development, and Romain Buisson, I&C Business Manager. Romain highlighted the strategic role of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) in the success of highly complex projects such as ITER, insisting on the need for smooth and secure integration of systems throughout their lifecycle. "Instrumentation & Control is often underestimated, yet it is the key to the real operability of installations." Assystem is committed to placing I&C at the center of the project, ensuring its proper integration from design to maintenance, thus guaranteeing long-term safety, efficiency, and performance.

Bernard reaffirmed Assystem's conviction that fusion is a key solution for building a low-carbon energy future. Having been involved with ITER since its inception, Assystem continues to demonstrate its commitment by tackling today’s challenges while looking to the long term, with a strong desire to contribute fully to the success of the programme through the dedication of its team.

This project is much more than a technical challenge: it is a human adventure, driven by passionate men and women, united around a unique scientific project to build the energy of the future.
