400 kV & 230 kV D/C transmission line project for Jamuna & Padma River Crossing, PGCB Bangladesh
Project presentation
The Client - a leading EPC player, was awarded a design and engineering contract as the lowest responsive bidder for the execution of the project titled “Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of 400 kV and 230 kV River Crossing Transmission Line, Bangladesh.”
To ensure timely and technically sound execution with the stringent project timeline of 24 months, the Client engaged Assystem in India in 2022 to provide specialized engineering Consultancy services for the deep foundation design of the project transmission line.
Project Scope
Design and Engineering of 26 deep foundations for tower locations located in River Bed and River Bank.
FOUNDATION TYPES:
Steel Tube Piles / Length: ~100 meters
RCC Bored Piles / Length: ~100 meters
- Non-linear soil structure interaction was carried in SAP2000
- The foundation has been designed for ship impact using EN guidelines
- The displacement spectra has been derived by modeling soil column in “Deepsoil” software and the derived displacement spectra is applied in SAP 2000. Multi-support excitation analysis is carried out for Seismic case.
Client benefits
- By successfully executing this international transmission line project in Bangladesh, Assystem in India has significantly enhanced its global footprint. This marks a key milestone in Assystem in India Journey towards becoming a recognized player in the specialized engineering services of deep foundation of Transmission lines.
- Builds credibility and visibility in market, opening doors in future for similar assignments.
