Assystem is delighted to announce that it will be the headline sponsor of the Women in Nuclear (WiN) annual awards in Manchester on 14th May 2024. The awards recognise the extraordinary people in the UK nuclear sector who are committed to taking action to increase the number of women working and taking senior positions in nuclear.

Women in Nuclear

Women in Nuclear (WiN UK) is one of over 30 international chapters under the umbrella of Women in Nuclear Global. Formed in 2014, WiN UK’s mission is to address the industry’s gender balance, improve the representation of women in leadership, engage with the industry, government and public on nuclear issues and support the industry with tools and information.

Assystem’s commitment to gender diversity

This year’s headline sponsorship forms part of the company's  Switch to ImpAct programme, which aims to boost gender equity, diversity, and inclusion in its markets and countries of operation through its Switch & Act for People pillar. Assystem’s commitment to addressing gender diversity in its UK business, includes:

  • IncredibleWomen – A proactive, ambitious and concrete global programme that seeks to promote professional equality within Assystem, which has delivered an uplift in the recruitment of women to 40% in 2023, compared to 19% in 2020. In addition to recruitment, the programme also provides career support and mentoring to Assystem’s female talent.
  • Targeting 50:50 representation in recruitment: Assystem have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and are actively working with the armed forces community to target female veterans.
  • Sponsorship of the Women and Work APPG – a forum to constructively examine and debate the role that policy makers can play to deliver gender balance within the economy.
It is a privilege to be selected as this year’s headline sponsor for the WiN Awards. The sponsorship is a real testament to our commitment to addressing the gender imbalance across the UK nuclear sector. As part of this, we are proud to be taking action to recruit and support women in nuclear through a diverse range of programmes.
