Context and challenges

This client is one of the leading French banking institutions. It currently has over 2,000 branches in France.
As part of its expansion, the client wanted to introduce an optimised solution for multi-site supervision. The goal of the project is to migrate the Building Management System (BMS) currently used at several of the group's French sites to a single solution that will become the BMS group standard.

The client defined the following challenges and goals:

  • Ensure the migration of the existing application with no work stoppage at the sites
  • Migrate the existing BMS from an initial site to a new, multi-site BMS application
  • Create the HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) for new sites (both existing and future) in a single operating environment, based on a library of objects and equipment to be defined
  • Modification of the existing application of a site in the Ile de France region

The client called on Assystem to re-design the BMS systems for several of the group's sites as part of a turnkey project solution.

Missions

The missions assigned to Assystem are:

  • Analysis of the existing situation: audit of the various sites
  • Design of the Panorama BMS architecture based on the specific configuration of the buildings and the diversity of the equipment to be controlled (3,000 points x 30 sites)
  • Development of the SCADA system (Panorama E² software suite with DoGate gateway for local fallback supervision, BacNet-IP, LON, KNX, ModBus networks)
  • Installation and settings of the computer servers
  • Commissioning (with management of phasing constraints), training and customer acceptance
  • Maintenance of the applications implemented
  • Improvement and modification of the national BMS standard

Results

  • A gain in maintenance costs due to the reduction in the number of different types of equipment
  • A saving in labour costs due to the reduction in operator training, linked to the transformation of the previous systems into a single global solution
  • Facilitation of the evolution of installations or the creation of new sites, by the implementation of a national system repository

in figures

  • 30
    bank sites
  • 3,000
points to be controlled per site
