Assystem has secured a key position in delivering England’s £4.2bn flood and coastal erosion risk management programme, following its appointment to the Environment Agency’s Flood Risk and Asset Management (FRAM) Lot under the Government Commercial Agency’s Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) framework.

By securing a position on the FRAM framework, Assystem is strengthening its role as a trusted partner for the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure and expanding its environmental management capabilities to support the delivery of the UK's long-term flood and coastal resilience ambitions.

Through Lot 9b (£85 million), the company will provide specialist environmental services to help improve the resilience, sustainability and performance of critical flood infrastructure across England. This includes Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), sustainability planning, flood risk management, climate resilience strategies, biodiversity net gain and ecological advisory services.

Leveraging its expertise across the energy, transport and water sectors, including the Thames Tideway Project and Thames Estuary Asset Management Team (2100) Project, the framework lot provides Assystem with a strategic route to support future critical flood and coastal resilience projects, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable infrastructure that protects people, businesses and the environment.

This four-year appointment also contributes to the wider successful delivery of the Government's £1.4 billion investment programme to repair and enhance UK flood defences while helping communities and businesses adapt to increasing climate-related risks.

Drawing on its 60 years of experience delivering major low-carbon infrastructure programmes worldwide, Assystem is well positioned to support the UK’s flood risk and Asset Management sector through its comprehensive environmental capabilities.

Our appointment to the EA’s FRAM framework marks an important step in expanding Assystem’s contribution to the UK’s critical infrastructure programmes. Protecting communities from the growing risks of flooding requires resilient, efficient and well-managed assets, and we are proud to bring our environmental, project management and engineering capabilities to support this vital work. Through the framework, we look forward to helping the Environment Agency enhance the performance and longevity of flood defence infrastructure while supporting the Government’s wider ambitions for climate resilience and economic growth.
