The second edition of the summit comes as new nuclear’s role in enabling flagship industrial development in the UK is cited as critical for providing a clean energy backbone for the country to draw on to decarbonise heavy industry and power future sectors like AI and hydrogen.

The conference will address how SMRs and AMR technology can be constructed at the speed required for rapidly scaling industrial customers such as data centres, taking into consideration the UK regulatory context, the role that industrialisation can play to manage costs and the successful delivery of these nuclear projects on time and budget.

Taking place in London, this key industry event will welcome some of the most influential stakeholders engaged in the mission to enable nuclear technology in the UK; from the investor community to technology providers, developers and companies such as Assystem who will be key to the delivery of these innovative projects.

Assystem’s UK Managing Director, Simon Barber, will present on how Assystem’s programme-level thinking, coupled with digital approach to projects, is key to expediting the efficient delivery of nuclear power at scale.  The company’s expertise in ensuring alignment between government, regulators, developers and supply chain from the outset has been gained from six decades delivering nuclear power across the world.

With ten offices in the UK, Assystem is well positioned to orchestrate the country’s roll out of modular nuclear and plan it with maximum agility, enabling developers and in turn, investors to achieve cost and schedule efficiencies.

Simon Barber will present and feature on the “Priorities for Enabling and Scaling the Deployment of New Nuclear in the UK" panel, highlighting how investment into the next generation of nuclear technologies is central to delivering low-carbon electricity at scale, but this cannot be achieved without the UK’s ability to establish a scalable, investor-ready nuclear delivery model.
