Assystem has secured key positions across the £3.5bn Government Commercial Agency (GCA) Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) framework.

Assystem’s appointment as a Tier 1 partner on the specialist Nuclear Lot 8 places the company among a select group of organisations approved to deliver critical nuclear services to the UK nuclear sector.

With contracts across the framework potentially reaching £500 million by 2030, this appointment reinforces Assystem’s strategic importance in delivering the UK’s nuclear ambitions, supporting the Government’s objectives to revitalise the nuclear sector, strengthen energy security and achieve net zero targets.

The framework provides a streamlined route for Sellafield and other nuclear licensed sites to continue accessing the specialist services Assystem has successfully delivered across the UK nuclear sector for many years.

As Europe’s largest independent nuclear engineering company, with more than 60 years of experience delivering major nuclear programmes worldwide, Assystem is well positioned to support the UKs growing nuclear sector through its comprehensive lifecycle capabilities. These span the full project journey, from siting, environmental and consenting support through design, engineering and nuclear safety, to commissioning, operational support, decommissioning and radioactive waste management.

In addition, Assystem will also provide technical environmental services to the Environment Agency through Lot 9b of the Flood Risk and Asset Management (FRAM) framework (£85 million), helping to improve the efficiency, resilience and long-term sustainability of critical flood infrastructure across the UK.

A key role in strengthening the UK’s nuclear sector

Assystem already has a strong presence in the UK, including:

  • Over a decade’s experience on the £1.5b Sellafield Design Services Alliance as a leading partner providing lifecycle design and implementation support to decommissioning projects.
  • A prime role in the £400m Rolls-Royce Capability Assured Strategic Partnership (CASP) supporting the Royal Navy’s submarine programme.
  • Major positions on EDF’s Professional Services Framework and EPR-E alliance across the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C Nuclear New Build Programmes.

This four-year framework, one of the largest procurements in the UK construction industry, aims to accelerate the delivery of infrastructure services across the UK, notably civil and defence programmes.
