The two engineering companies are working together to develop the low-carbon hydrogen sector and offshore electrical networks.

Assystem, an international engineering, digital services and project management company, and DORIS, an international engineering, consulting and project management company specialising in the field of energy, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at associating their respective expertise in the low-carbon hydrogen and offshore power grid sectors.

This agreement was formalised at the Résidence de France in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on July 8 in the presence of Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Energy Transition, and Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to Saudi Arabia.

Developing sustainable energy solutions to meet current environmental challenges is more necessary than ever. While electrification is now a priority on a global scale, hydrogen has become a promising alternative to achieve the objectives of decarbonisation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. By combining their complementary skills, Assystem and DORIS wish to strengthen their contribution to this crucial energy transition around the world.

Assystem and DORIS have been in discussions since 2021 and have already obtained a first major contract in France for a low-carbon hydrogen plant project. The two companies have also worked together on the development of offshore electrical substations to connect wind farms in France.

These first collaborations made it possible to identify strong synergies between the two companies. By combining Assystem's expertise in engineering, digital technology and the management of complex projects in the field of electricity with DORIS' in-depth experience in process engineering and its unique knowledge of offshore, this enhanced collaboration will enable to offer innovative and tailor-made solutions to meet the specific needs of customers in these rapidly developing sectors. The two companies will pool their expertise to provide complete integrated engineering services from the design phases to the implementation of projects.

We are delighted to formalise this strategic partnership with DORIS,” said Thomas Branche, Executive Vice President France, Nuclear & Energy New Build at Assystem. “We are at the dawn of considerable investment in the energy transition. By joining forces, we will be able to provide effective solutions in the fields of low-carbon hydrogen and offshore electricity networks, thus contributing to the acceleration of the energy transition and the fight against climate change.”

Christophe Sarri, CCO of DORIS said: “The partnership between DORIS and Assystem reflects the commitment of both companies to energy transition and innovation. Together, they will bring advanced technical expertise, strong project management and state-of-the-art digital solutions to address the development and challenges of low-carbon hydrogen and offshore power grids.”

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, French Minister for Energy Transition, said: "I welcome the signing of this partnership between these two French companies committed to decarbonization and low-carbon hydrogen. It is with this spirit of "Team France" that we must move forward together."

"This strategic partnership is perfectly in line with the visit of the Minister for Energy Transition, focused on decarbonisation in compliance with the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions set by the Paris Agreement on CIimate” added Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “It comes in an extremely favourable context for relations between France and Saudi Arabia, following the historic visit to France of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. It will make it possible to better seize the opportunities offered in the Kingdom in the field of low-carbon hydrogen”.
