Global nuclear engineering company Assystem, has today secured a place on the MoD’s EDP (Engineering Delivery Partner) framework, strengthening its role in supporting the UK’s nuclear submarine programme and the wider Defence Nuclear Enterprise.
Through winning a place on this framework, Assystem will gain access to bid for mission critical Ministry of Defence (MoD) projects, where they can offer a range of expert engineering services, including:
- Mechanical Systems
- Nuclear Systems, Propulsion
- Powerplant
- Batteries & Power Distribution Systems
- Structures
- Systems Engineering
- Safety & Environmental Certification and Independent Assurance Immersive Virtual Reality for Engineering
- Digital Engineering
- AI and Digital Toolchain Integration.
At a critical time for the sector, the Partnership brings together considerable cross-sector skills across the defence supply chain, presenting opportunities to boost the UK’s operational readiness to strengthen the UK’s Armed Forces.
As part of a consortium of core engineering partners, Assystem will collaborate with industry leaders to deliver specialist engineering capability aligned to the evolving requirements of the UK’s submarine programmes, supporting the in-Service programme, design maturity, safety assurance and infrastructure readiness across the Defence Nuclear Enterprise.
This news comes following Assystem’s recent announcement as a principal partner in the Capability Assured Strategic Partnership (CASP) with Rolls-Royce Submarines, supporting the UK’s nuclear submarine programme through engineering, digital and delivery capabilities aligned to the Defence Nuclear Enterprise and AUKUS objectives.
Assystem is also playing a significant role in the Ministry of Defence nuclear frameworks, including the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework, providing specialist Nuclear technical and infrastructure support to defence sites.
