Job Description

Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new nuclear power station in over two decades.
This role sits at the heart of its electrical commissioning efforts.
You’ll work alongside designers, project managers, and contractors.

Your mission includes:

  • Liaising with designers to align commissioning needs with system designs
  • Supporting Project Managers with timely electrical deliverables
  • Leading documentation for commissioning test and validation activities
  • Reviewing plant layouts for commissioning feasibility and access
  • Planning and managing a specific programme of commissioning tests
  • Overseeing site commissioning and supervising contractor activity
  • Reporting outcomes of tests and identifying required corrective actions
  • Ensuring commissioning complies with nuclear and industrial safety standards

 

My profile

🛠 Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering background in power generation or heavy industry
  • Experience commissioning HV, LV, or DC electrical systems
  • Understanding of systems up to 400kV and associated control voltages
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, layouts, and system documentation
  • Proven ability to supervise or lead on-site commissioning teams
  • Knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and reporting capabilities
  • Willingness to work on a high-security, regulated site

✔️ Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience working in the nuclear sector
  • SC or DV clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of control systems like SCADA or DCS
