Job Description

Project Manager

 Location: Derby  
 

💼 Your Future Team

We’re looking for a Project Manager to represent  our Nuclear Defence business and support the delivery of a portfolio of projects for major blue-chip clients.

The role is based out of our Derby office (hybrid), with 2–3 days a week on-site alongside the project team and regular visits to the customer’s Derby site.

Your Missions

📌 Accountable for delivering the project to scope, quality, schedule and budget in alignment with organisational objectives.
🧭 Applying recognised project management methodologies and tools across all phases of the project lifecycle.
💰 Manage financial performance to control project budgets.
✔️ Support project assurance and reviews to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
📋 Ensure adherence to all agreed client processes and operating procedures.
📊 Monitor the performance of the project team against contractual obligations.
⚠️ Monitor risks and opportunities, escalating where required.
🤝 Maintain productive relationships with the supply chain throughout the contract.
⏱️ Review and update duration and cost estimates, identifying critical dates.
💼 Monitor financial performance, prepare reports, and update final cost estimates.
🔍 Maintain integrity and transparency in all project activities.
🔄 Review proposed changes, assess their impact, and request further details if needed.
👥 Collaborate effectively and encourage teamwork within the project team.
📝 Ability to generate quality bids and proposals for clients.

My profile

Experience:

📂 Proven track record of managing multiple projects (3+ years).
🏛️ Knowledge of project governance and application of project controls.
📈 Solid understanding of KPIs and EVM.
🖥️ Proficient in understanding and using ERP systems.
📊 Strong experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
🎓 Project Management qualification (e.g., APM).
💼 Commercial skills with demonstrable project and contract change management expertise.

Desirable:
