Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

As a Piping Calculation Engineer, you’ll work within the electrical team on-site at Hinkley Point C.
You’ll play a key role responding to site issues and mechanical challenges.
Your future team includes engineers across JDO, MEH, NNB and more.

Your missions will include:

  • Analyse input data and create reports describing mechanical loading conditions
  • Perform stress analyses on cable trays, supports and other equipment
  • Propose design modifications when criteria are not met
  • Conduct hand calculations and run anchorages macros
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues
  • Assess stakeholder-proposed modifications for feasibility
  • Review subcontractor technical documents and drawing packages
  • Identify and implement improvements in existing studies

 

My profile

🛠 Essential Skills

  • Mechanical engineering degree
  • Experience in mechanical calculations
  • Familiarity with EUROCODE & ASME
  • Skilled in 2D/3D design tools: PDMS/E3D, NavisWorks, ANSYS, RSTAB
  • Strong written and verbal English communication
  • Experience in multicultural project environments
  • Skilled in writing technical documentation
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced settings

✔️ Desired Skills

  • Experience in nuclear engineering environments, specifically RCC-M code
  • Understanding of electrical design and BoP buildings
  • Knowledge of the HPC project or EPR studies
