Context and challenges
The extension of the RER E (EOLE) regional train to the west of Paris will connect the Haussmann-Saint-Lazare train station to Mantes-la-Jolie. The RER extension consists of:
The project goals are to help ease congestion on the network, to strengthen the public transport offering and the quality of service, to complete the network grid and foster development in local communities.
This project has many special features: it is emblematic due to its size, it is complex - in particular the new section between Nanterre and Haussmann-Saint-Lazare - and it includes many interfaces (many contractors involved).
The Scheduling, Construction Management and Coordination (SCMC) mission for the new section was entrusted to Assystem in association with a leading construction firm.
Project scope
The geographical scope of this SCMC mission is between Nanterre and Haussmann-Saint-Lazare for all the infrastructure work and secondary work under the project ownership of the client, who is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the national railway network.
