Assystem Puts Nuclear in Focus at 2025 Project Controls Expo
30 October 2025
As a Tier one supplier to the UK nuclear industry, Assystem’s gold sponsorship for the Project Controls Expo (PCE) 2025 signifies the scale of its Digital and Project Controls expertise in supporting the delivery of new nuclear programmes today.
With global power demands soaring as a result of expanding energy-intensive data centres, effective Project Controls is critical to supporting the delivery of new nuclear technologies, which are the solution to meeting the constant and growing use of AI worldwide.
As part of this year’s PCE speaking opportunities, Managing Consultant, Paula Mota, will take the stage on the 4th of November to discuss ‘Closing the Loop: Digital Information Management for ISO 19650-Compliant SMR Projects’. Paula will share insights on how project controls are shaping the future of complex infrastructure delivery, particularly within the SMR space. Using technical examples, the session will deep dive into how digital applications are driving transformation through accurate precision and performance.
Recruitment zone
This year, Assystem is also opening its doors to its first-ever recruitment zone held in its sponsorship box to allow prospective Switchers to connect with leading Project Controls experts at Assystem. This will allow delegates to find out more about its various Project Controls capabilities, new roles, as well as the exciting Project Controls work that the company is involved in.

Leanne Coleman, Senior Business Unit Director, PMC commented on the significance of digital tools in delivering effective Project Controls, saying: “Leveraging digital solutions across the project management sector makes a huge difference when it comes to automating project control processes, enhancing industry efficiencies and boosting project performance on complex new nuclear challenges. That’s why we’re excited to be sponsoring this year’s Project Controls Expo to highlight and connect with industry peers and experts on the opportunities that digital tools provide for facing uncharted territories as the global demand for nuclear grows”.
Digital tools powering new Government policy: students assess impact with the Imagine the Switch Competition
Assystem will also be hosting its third annual edition of the Imagine the Switch Student Competition. With the Government’s new ‘Plan for Change’ initiative set to fast-track the delivery of 150 infrastructure projects across the UK, Assystem invited students to propose a digital project controls solution that leverages the opportunities of the new policy and the risks associated with delivering low-carbon infrastructure projects.
After the success of our 2024 competition, Assystem is back for another year and has invited three student finalists to present their ideas to a panel of expert judges at the PCE on Wednesday, 5th of November. The winner will receive a £2,000 cash prize, a two-week work experience placement with Assystem in 2026, as well as a guided tour of Wembley stadium after the announcement!
