Job Description

On behalf of Rolls Royce, Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Fitter to work at the Rolls Royce site in Derby.

Looking for experience with traditional hand skills of flattening, straightening, fettling and intricate grinding
 
Role details: 
Role title – Fitter
Contract duration – 12 months
Contract type – PAYE via Umbrella – INSIDE IR35
Hours – 37 hours, Split between Nights, Afters + Days (overtime achievable)
Location – Rolls Royce (Raynesway)

Key accountabilities will include: 

  • Working to technical drawings in both ISO and ASME formats to deliver a high quality and conforming parts
  • Using a large range of traditional hand skills including flattening, straightening, fettling and intricate grinding
  • Using a broad range of inspection techniques to assess and sentence parts to manufacturing drawings
  • Utilising previous engineering background knowledge in to seek solutions and improve processes
  • Work to a time pressured plan to meet business needs

My profile

Skills and experience required for this role: 

  • Time-served engineering apprenticeship with an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or other equivalent.
  • Engineering experience in fitting and or fabrications
  • Has a proactive enthusiastic approach to working efficiently
  • Capable of working as an individual and part of a team
