Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission
As an Electrical Layout Engineer, you will be a vital part of the Layout Team within the Joint Design Office at Hinkley Point C. You’ll support the construction of two European Pressurised Reactors (EPRs), ensuring that the electrical systems integrate seamlessly into the overall plant design. Your expertise in electrical layout will ensure that design and site activities are coordinated efficiently to meet strict technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:
⚡️ Assessing layout impacts of site requests
⚡️ Providing technical assessments and justified solutions
⚡️ Creating 3D models and supporting CAD designers
⚡️ Liaising with HVAC, piping, and equipment teams
⚡️ Coordinating with Back-Office and NNB construction teams
⚡️ Updating electrical layout deliverables as required
⚡️ Managing the change process for design impacts
⚡️ Reporting to the Layout Team Lead regularly
⚡️ Resolving design open points and closing technical gaps
⚡️ Sharing lessons learnt with the wider team

My profile

Essential Skills and Qualifications
🛠 Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
🛠 Several years of experience in electrical layout engineering
🛠 Proficiency in 3D design software, preferably PDMS/E3D
🛠 Experience in 3D model visualisation for layout analysis
🛠 Strong understanding of electrical layout principles and general plant layout rules

Desired Skills
✔️ Experience in European Pressurised Reactors (EPR) or other nuclear projects
✔️ Knowledge of nuclear power station operations and associated safety regulations
✔️ Familiarity with UK regulatory processes and nuclear design standards
✔️ Experience with additional 3D/2D design software
