Assystem STUP employs 1500 engineers who provide support to clients in the transportation, urban development, decarbonised energy, and industrial and complex buildings markets. With its headquarters in Delhi, Assystem STUP also has a local presence throughout India with 9 offices spread across the country. Assystem STUP’s teams have already been involved in many projects such as the construction of Dassault factories in Nagpur, preliminary studies of future EPR nuclear reactors in India, the development of the road transport networks in Mumbai, and others.

Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join our data and analytics team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are passionate about data, curious about solving real-world problems, and eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. You will work alongside experienced data scientists, analysts, and engineers to turn data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources

Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies

Build, test, and validate basic statistical and machine learning models under guidance

Support data-driven decision-making by creating dashboards, reports, and visualizations

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business problems and data needs

Document methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly

Continuously learn and apply new data science tools, techniques, and best practices

Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

Basic knowledge of statistics, probability, and data analysis concepts

Good Knowledge on Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing

Proficiency in Python or R (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or equivalent)

Familiarity with SQL and relational databases

Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, Tableau)
-
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering)

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Basic knowledge of cloud platforms or big data tools (e.g., Azure, AWS, Spark)

Internship, academic projects, or hands-on experience in data-related roles
