Job Description
The Senior Project Management Consultant will support the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Delivery Effectiveness Programme across a major nuclear infrastructure project. Working closely with programme leadership, project teams, and stakeholders, the role will focus on improving delivery performance, increasing productivity, and embedding best practice.
The role will provide consultancy support across a range of improvement initiatives, helping teams identify challenges, remove barriers, and implement practical solutions that enhance project outcomes. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the consultant will help ensure that processes, tools, governance, and ways of working are consistently applied and deliver measurable benefits.
A key aspect of the role is supporting organisational change and the adoption of new frameworks, systems, and technologies. Acting as a trusted advisor and facilitator, the Delivery Effectiveness Consultant will help project teams navigate change, understand requirements, and successfully embed new ways of working.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Delivery Effectiveness initiatives across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve performance, productivity, and project outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagement activities, and cross-functional meetings to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Support the adoption of new tools, processes, governance arrangements, systems, and ways of working.
- Analyse programme performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, providing clear recommendations.
- Produce reports, presentations, and communications to support programme delivery and decision-making.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, and functional leads to enhance delivery effectiveness.
- Support change management and continuous improvement activities to successfully embed new practices across the programme.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to governance, performance reviews, and programme reporting.
My profile
The role requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops, engage diverse audiences, and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple programmes and workstreams within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Degree qualified or equivalent relevant experience.
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
Experience
- Understanding of project management and programme delivery principles.
- Knowledge of project controls, reporting, planning, risk, and governance processes.
- Understanding of business change, process improvement, and organisational adoption activities.
- Awareness of delivery challenges associated with major infrastructure and construction programmes.
- Knowledge of performance management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong presentation and facilitation capabilities.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to influence discussions and guide teams towards positive outcomes.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
