Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead and oversee all project controls functions across major capital projects within the nuclear sector. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring robust planning, cost control, risk management, performance reporting, and governance across complex, large-scale programmes.
The successful candidate will have a proven background delivering major infrastructure or engineering projects within highly regulated environments, with strong experience in the nuclear industry and large-scale project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project controls function across major nuclear or infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and client requirements.
- Manage and integrate planning, cost control, risk management, change control, and reporting activities.
- Develop and implement project controls processes, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of integrated master schedules and cost forecasts.
- Provide accurate performance reporting, including progress measurement, earned value analysis, and KPI tracking.
- Drive schedule and cost risk analysis, identifying trends, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Support senior leadership with strategic programme insights and recommendations.
- Ensure effective management of change control and assessment of programme impacts.
- Lead project controls meetings, reviews, and stakeholder reporting sessions.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners to ensure project controls consistency and transparency.
- Mentor and manage project controls teams across multiple disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards within the nuclear environment.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience in a Project Controls Manager or senior project controls role on large-scale, complex capital projects.
- Strong nuclear sector experience is essential.
- Proven background in major infrastructure, engineering, construction, or energy projects.
- Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, and performance reporting.
- Experience managing integrated project controls functions across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and project performance metrics.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments and strict governance structures.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in project controls and planning software such as Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, and cost management systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capability.
