Principal Mechanical Engineer

My profile

Experience

  • Engineering professional with high-level technical competency and experience working within a related field
  • HNC (minimum)
  • Innovative – to be able to create and develop new ideas (challenge the norm)
  • Preparing project documentation, processes, reports and arranging engineering reviews
  • Considerable experience (demonstrable) of successful stakeholder management
  • A strong understanding of drawing standards (BS8888) and deep knowledge of ISO-GPS (ISO 8015), including the ability to specify requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate SQEP against checking of technical drawings (BS8888, ISO 8015)
  • A sound engineering background with deep experience of general design and manufacture – able to review current intent and, where appropriate, challenge aspect of design and manufacture – experience of material selection, welding, fabrication techniques and general machining (including limitations)  
  • Knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA
  • Excellent communicator – Written and verbal
  • Experienced in delivering work for highly regulated industries
  • Experience of nuclear sector
  • Familiarity or previous design experience with Nuclear (including mechanical handling)

Experience of CAD (Inventor)

  • SC Clearance (preferred) or the ability to obtain SC Clearance.
