Your Future Team:

The Electrical Design Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approving Authority, the primary purpose of the role is to directly support current operations and future programmes. Supporting nuclear facilities & the delivery of services across both Client Sites near Helensburgh.

Your Missions

  • 📄 Manage Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents.
  • 🔄 Handle design changes/concessions.
  • 📊 Present Design substantiations to safety committees.
  • 📅 Develop EIMT Schedule, procedures, and results.
  • 📝 Produce Periodic Review of Safety reports.
  • 🗣️ Advise internal and external stakeholders.
  • 🕵️‍♂️ Conduct Independent Technical Review.
  • 🛠️ Apply engineering knowledge to nuclear/high-risk environments.
  • 🏗️ Justify civil/structural design modifications.
  • 🔍 Review reports and safety submissions.
  • 📝 Check and review calculations and technical documents.

My profile

  • 📐 Knowledge of current design standards and practices, including British & European Standards.
  • ⚡ Theoretical and practical skills across concept, detailed design, and construction stages for electrical engineering projects.
  • 🏗️ Experience in assessing electrical plant and equipment for hazards.
  • 💡 Specifying electrical systems/components for HV & LV networks at 50Hz & 60Hz.
  • 📝 Authoring technical justifications for electrical design modifications in high hazard industries.
  • 🏭 Familiarity with industrial machinery like pumps, generators, HVAC, SCADA, PAVA Systems, etc.
  • 🤝 Experience in multi-discipline projects providing electrical engineering input, especially in industrial/maritime sectors.
  • 🌡️ Experienced in high-risk environments.
  • 🛠️ Familiarity with safety case development techniques like HAZID/HAZOP studies.
  • 💼 Worked in the UK nuclear industry (energy or defense), especially in safety-related structures, systems, and components.
  • 📜 Knowledge of UK and US nuclear industry regulations, and application of nuclear-specific codes and standards.
  • 🏢 Hybrid role with visits to client site near Helensburgh & Glasgow offices.
  • 🔒 Security Clearance: SC, UK National.
  • 🎓 BEng in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 👷 Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent experience.
  • ⚠️ Safety case related training.
