Job Description

  • Work closely with the People Business Partnering team and the wider People Team to ensure a collaborative and robust approach to employee relations is developed and maintained.
  • Take a pro-active approach to delivering a high quality, timely and professional employee relations service.
  • Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, then collaborates with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.  
  • Manage relationships with key internal customers and act as their business partner, while typically using support teams to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Lead case management, utilizing HR data and evidence to influence decision making.
  • Risk assess ER related issues  and projects, providing clear and viable options for business consideration. 
  • Use experience, knowledge and insights to ensure that any People advice, guidance and decision making is well informed, accurate and aligned with our established policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a high-quality service, providing expert support to managers through coaching and mentoring managers on employee relation cases, which includes investigations, disciplinary, short- and long-term absences, grievances, capability, appeals and any change management.
  • Support managers through the appraisal processes, responding to any queries regarding the process/our practice. 
  • Support the implementation, updating and refreshing of People team policies and procedures.
  • Work pro-actively to minimize employee relations casework through the upskilling and training of our line management population ensuring the utilisation of available resources/toolkits.
  • Effective support, buddying, and development of other members of the People Team.  
  • Develop and deliver training on a variety of HR topics as guided by the People Manager.
  • Strive to meet our People team service level agreements and objectives.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with key departments and stakeholders.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to maintaining up to date knowledge of employment law/legislation changes and ensuring that our practice and policies are reflective of any changes on a regular basis.
  • Assist the People Business Partnering team to ensure that immigration/right to work status are managed and monitored.
  • Support ad hoc People Team projects with guidance from the People Manager & Chief People Officer.

My profile

To be successful in your application you must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and key skills: 

  • CIPD Level 5 or Employment Law Qualification
  • Case management experience ( e.g managing disciplinaries, grievances etc) from beginning to end
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of Employment Law and HR Legislation
  • Previous experience of drafting, updating and rolling out HR Policies and Procedures
