Job Description

The Document Controller & Translator is responsible for managing and controlling all project documentation in compliance with the AKZ‑TCS Project Quality System while providing accurate translation support in English, Russian, and optionally Kazakh. This position serves as a shared resource within the project, ensuring effective communication, document accuracy, and procedural compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary gatekeeper for all project documentation, ensuring accurate identification, classification, archiving, and distribution.
  • Manage the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) as a “Super User,” provide training to new team members, and conduct regular refresher sessions.
  • Perform “DCC Quality Gate” checks on deliverables, verifying templates, numbering, safety markings, and compliance before submission to the Client.
  • Translate technical documents, reports, and official correspondence from and into English and Russian (Kazakh as a plus).
  • Provide verbal interpretation during meetings, workshops, and site visits.
  • Collect, record, and distribute all incoming and outgoing documents from internal teams and external parties.
  • Maintain both physical and digital libraries, supervising document duplication and secure archiving in compliance with confidentiality and classification rules.
  • Support the Project Management Team in tracking deliverables, identifying documentation bottlenecks, and preparing project close‑out handover packages.
  • Develop and maintain a multilingual technical glossary and translation memory to ensure terminology consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Project Director, Task Order Leads, and Quality Assurance team on all document control-related processes.
  • Act as the main contact for the Client and local administrative authorities regarding documentation and translation matters.
  • Strictly apply information security standards and contribute to the classification and access control of sensitive information.

My profile

Education:

  • Technician diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Philology, Document Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in document control within industrial or technical projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of written and verbal translation between English and Russian.
  • Hands‑on experience in EDMS administration and document tracking systems.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear, energy, or large-scale technical sectors is an advantage.

Certifications & Proficiency:

  • Official translator qualification (English–Russian) required.
  • Certification in document control or information management preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Kazakh language proficiency and simultaneous interpretation experience are strong assets.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluent in English and Russian (Kazakh preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills in multicultural, multilingual environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain document consistency and formatting.
  • Confident verbal interpreter capable of handling long and high-level meetings.
  • Proactive and capable of identifying and resolving documentation bottlenecks.
  • Knowledge of information security rules and experience maintaining confidentiality classifications.
  • Eligibility to work in Kazakhstan (Kazakh nationality or valid work permit).
  • Availability for occasional business trips to construction or project sites.
