Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Structural Engineer specializing in power plant projects, with a focus on the design of cooling towers (IDCT & NDCT) Thermal power plant. This critical role demands extensive experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures, as well as a comprehensive understanding of power plant infrastructure.

  1. Lead the structural design and analysis of critical power plant components, with a particular emphasis on cooling towers and associated structures.
  2. Utilize advanced knowledge of RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) and steel structures to ensure the integrity and efficiency of power plant designs.
  3. Apply relevant design codes and standards, including IS codes, American, British, and European standards, to both domestic and international power projects.
  4. Conduct in-depth structural analysis for industrial buildings and water-retaining structures within power plant environments.
  5. Develop and implement innovative design solutions for cooling towers, with a specific focus on Induced Draft Cooling Towers (IDCT) and Natural Draft Cooling Towers (NDCT).
  6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with other aspects of power plant engineering.
  7. Ensure all designs meet or exceed safety standards, environmental regulations, and project specifications.
  8. Provide expert guidance on structural engineering matters to junior engineers and project stakeholders.
  9. Continuously update knowledge of emerging technologies and methodologies in power plant structural engineering.
  10. Contribute to the company’s growth by delivering high-quality, cost-effective structural solutions for power plant projects.

My profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the power industry, candidates with up to 15 years of experience will be considered for senior positions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reinforced concrete and steel structure design, specifically within power plant environments.
  • Proficiency in applying relevant design codes and standards, including IS codes, American, British, and European standards for both domestic and international power projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural analysis software and CAD tools used in power plant design.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful project completion in power plant structural engineering, particularly in cooling tower design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative structural solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of guiding junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of emerging technologies in power plant structural engineering.
