Job Description

Overview of Role

The Quality Surveyor is a key on-site full-time role, 37-40 hours per week for an initial 46-week duration. The post holder will be responsible for providing quantity surveying support to the 3 Basin Remediation Project infrastructure procurements and all associated costing activities. The role will require ongoing interaction with the Client Commercial and Cost Management team as well as the wider Joint Project Team (JPT) with an emphasis of working closely with the Project Manager to maintain an understanding of the schedule and payment applications. Support in the delivery of periodic performance reporting.

🔎 Key Responsibilities

  • Review, challenge, and assure Contractor Compensation Event (CE) quotations.

  • Provide commercial advice to project teams on payments, retention release, extensions of time, and liquidated damages.

  • Draft and respond to Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and contractual notices.

  • Lead assessments of applications for payment, site progress, and forecasts to completion.

  • Prepare and agree Final Accounts.

  • Manage purchase orders and invoicing processes.

  • Administer CEMAR and attend weekly Early Warning and Commercial meetings.

  • Liaise with technical and client commercial teams, maintaining issue logs and audit queries.

  • Ensure contracts are administered in line with Contract Management Plans and assurance standards.

🎯 Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering Quantity Surveying activities on complex programmes/projects.

  • Strong experience operating under NEC4 contracts, including full lifecycle commercial processes.

  • Proficient in the use of CEMAR.

  • Demonstrable experience in effective stakeholder engagement throughout programme/project delivery.

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in NEC4 costing activities within major project/programme environments.

  • Accredited Degree in a Cost or Commercial discipline (or equivalent experience).

⭐ Desirable

  • Experience working at HMNB Devonport or within a similarly regulated/secure site environment.

  • RICS Chartered (or equivalent professional accreditation).

  • NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation (PMA) qualified.
