Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design & Engineering
    • Lead the design and development of plumbing and fire fighting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IPC, etc.).
    • Prepare design calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
    • Project Management
    • Oversee multiple projects from concept through commissioning.
    • Coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions and ensure timely completion.
    • Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
    • Review and approve technical documents prepared by junior engineers.
    • Conduct quality checks and site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
    • Compliance & Team Leadership
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and industry best practices.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM teams.
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and vendors to address project requirements and resolve technical issues.
    • Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and value engineering discussions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
    • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Experience:

    • 7–15 years of proven experience in designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
    • Demonstrable track record of successfully completed medium to large-scale projects.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Thorough understanding of plumbing and fire protection design principles, hydraulic calculations, and water supply/distribution networks.
    • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and hydraulic calculation tools).
    • In-depth knowledge of NFPA, IPC, and local building codes/regulations.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent.
    • NFPA or other relevant fire protection certifications.
