Job Description

Role Overview:

Responsible for the design, engineering, and execution support of HVDC substation systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineering of HVDC Substation systems, including converter stations and associated AC/DC equipment.
  • Preparation and review of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, and engineering documents.
  • Engineering of HVDC equipment such as converters, transformers, smoothing reactors, filters, and switchgear.
  • Development of equipment layouts, grounding systems, and cable routing for HVDC substations.
  • Coordination with OEMs, consultants, and cross-functional teams for design integration.
  • Review and approval of vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and client specifications.
  • Preparation of technical reports, BOQs, and documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HVDC technology (LCC/VSC systems).
  • Experience in substation design (AIS/GIS) and power transmission systems.
  • Familiarity with protection & control systems in HVDC substations.
  • Understanding of harmonic filters, reactive power compensation, and insulation coordination.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools like AutoCAD, ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience: 5 – 10 Yrs.
