Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role for candidates living within commutable distance to Bridgwater, or willing to relocate (relocation support available). You’ll join our site-based Layout Team, providing engineering support to construction by reviewing and optimising plant design.

Your future team will depend on your ability to assess site change requests, ensure the design intent is maintained, and coordinate updates across engineering disciplines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess site requests to determine impact on plant layout
  • Gather technical inputs and develop solutions with supporting justification
  • Review and update 3D models, drawings, and installation tolerances
  • Liaise with mechanical, HVAC, piping, civil, equipment, and electrical teams
  • Coordinate with site construction teams and installation contractors
  • Initiate and manage change processes to implement design updates
  • Monitor and report progress, challenges, and risks to the Layout Team Lead
  • Contribute to closing out technical queries and lessons learned
  • Maintain compliance with safety and design requirements
  • Support collaborative team meetings and knowledge sharing

 

My profile

🛠 Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in 3D design software (Navisworks) for layout analysis
  • Experience with PDMS / Aveva E3D software
  • Strong understanding of layout and installation rules in industrial projects
  • Knowledge of plant operations and related safety considerations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple tasks

✔️ Desired Skills

  • Experience in nuclear or other large-scale industrial projects
  • Familiarity with UK design and regulatory environments
  • Experience in plant layout engineering
