Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Modeling: Develop detailed 3D HVAC models (chilled water, ducting, VRF, etc.) using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Coordination: Perform clash detection using Navisworks to resolve conflicts with structural, architectural, and other MEP services.
  • Documentation: Generate shop drawings, installation drawings, and technical layouts.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure models adhere to project specifications, industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA), and BIM execution plans.
  • Quantity Take-offs: Extract, material schedules, and equipment lists (BOQ) from the model.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and site personnel to update models based on revisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Typically 2–10 years of experience in HVAC modeling, with proficiency in LOD 300–400.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and, in some cases, international building codes.
  • Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills for interdisciplinary coordination.
