New head of Strategy & Innovation at Assystem

Assystem announced on May 14th that Jean-Louis Ricaud has been appointed Vice-President in charge of Strategy and Innovation. He will be reporting to the Chairman of Assystem’s Management Board, Dominique Louis.
In his new position, Mr Ricaud will be tasked with overseeing the preparation and implementation of the Group’s strategy, strengthening the Assystem innovation process and fostering the emergence of new business development projects.

Visit Assystem at Aircraft Interiors Expo

Assystem will be exhibitor once again at
Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg (Germany), the world's leading exhibition for aircraft equipment, from 27th to 29th March 2012: Halle 6, Stand G98. The 2012 edition will be the largest ever staged in Hamburg with over 500 companies present from over 90 countries, specializing in every aspect of the aircraft interior. Around 10000 visitors use this opportunity to meet, network and see the most comprehensive range of products in the aircraft interiors industry. Assystem will present one of its latest aerospace R&D projects, the
Assystem Amphibian Aircraft.
The Amphibian, an unmatched ultralight aircraft designed in Toulouse (France) and developed by Assystem teams located in France, Germany and the UK, successfully completed its wind tunnel tests. On March 21st, Amphibian specialists will report on the progress of the project and reveal the results of the latest test phase that ended in early March. The next steps are the construction of a life size Amphibian model and the final design validation following the completion of the test phase.

Assystem delivers very good performance in 2011

Assystem published on Wednesday 14 march its FY 2011 results: Assystem delivered very strong performance with operating profit rising to €58,7M€, up 32.5%, while attributable net profit reached €41 M, up 90% vs 2010. Cash flow generation remained strong with operating free cash flow reaching €34.6 million for the year.
In 2011 Assystem expanded in promising new segments and geographic zones through the acquisition of Berner & Mattner, a German company specialised in embedded systems, and the French group MPH operating in the oil & gas segment. The nuclear alliance with Atkins, n.triple.a, helps Assystem position itself in a strategic segment with promising international perspectives.

Assystem at the Seattle Aerospace Summit

Assystem is at the Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit in Seattle from March 12-15, 2012. This meeting represents a major opportunity for leaders to come together, connect and meet new business partners.
Assystem set up shop in Canada in 2004 to provide its aerospace clients (Rolls-Royce, Bombardier…) with development assistance and currently employs 50 engineers, with a plan to create and maintain more than 100 jobs by 2013. Assystem awarded major Sellafield contract

Assystem and its AXIOM Joint Venture partners (AMEC, Jacobs and Mott MacDonald) have been awarded one of the two contracts that are part of the
Sellafield Design Services Alliance (DSA). The other contract has gone to another joint-venture called Progressive Alliance, which is made up of Babcock and URS Corp. The DSA provides Sellafield with access to the full range of multi-disciplined engineering services for the development and refurbishment of new and existing facilities and decommissioning at the site. Sellafield Ltd anticipates the contract to operate for up to 15 years.
AXIOM’s particular contract involves providing front-end engineering design support for all new facilities and for the refurbishment and upgrading of existing facilities and systems to the production operations and infrastructure directorates at Sellafield. This work will be delivered in collaboration with Sellafield’s own staff and local suppliers with all parties working as part of an integrated team.
Assystem boasts more than 45 years of experience in nuclear energy over the whole cycle, from fuel production to reprocessing to the design, commissioning and decommissioning of nuclear installations. The group Assystem worked alongside major in the French nuclear energy industry throughout the commissioning of the national installations (58 reactors) and continues to be a privileged partner in their maintenance, operation and development. Assystem has teamed up with Atkins through the joint-venture n.triple.a to deploy its offer internationally and has announced the expansion of this alliance to support EDF in the deployment of the UK EPR programme
The UK is a major market for Assystem and currently represents 11% of its 2011 pro forma revenue. Over 1,500 Assystem specialists offer key capabilities in a wide array of industries, from Aerospace and Energy to Defense and Transport.
