Since its inception in 1966, Assystem has developed a strong culture that has been enhanced with the arrival of new teams and the challenges the company has had to face. This crucible of integration is based on values manifested as objectives and benchmarks in a company which views itself as a living organism with ever-changing contours, whose ability to adapt is indispensible to development and growth.
To meeting the rising demand for skills in nuclear engineering, Assystem established an internal training centre in 2008. A place of transfer of knowledge among its experts – some of whom have 40 years of experience – and the younger generations, the Assystem Nuclear Institute trains over 100 engineers every quarter. At the height of the automobile sector crisis in 2009, it also supported the professional reorientation of 300 Assystem employees in this sector towards the high-growth energy sector.

Assystem employs women at a slightly higher rate than the national average in France (17%). To promote the professional opportunities available to them, but also to support them along their career within the company, the Femmes d’énergie network was created in 2010. It is a place of dialogue, development and interaction between Assystem's female staff and new recruits and the outside world.
Assystem’s commitment to a growth model compatible with the wellbeing of people and the environment reached a new milestone in late 2011, when the group pledged to support the United Nations Global Compact. This initiative now includes several thousand corporate participants and other stakeholders in more than 130 countries, who are committed to working with the United Nations to promote respect for ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. By aligning itself with the Global Compact’s principles, Assystem demonstrates its determination to continuously improve its ability to meet the expectations of its employees, clients and shareholders, the stakeholders of a vision for a new path to growth.

Driven by passionate employees, Assystem is deploying R&D projects in the transport and energy fields. Each project aims to demonstrate technological innovations designed and developed by Assystem engineers. It is an opportunity to assemble employees in between missions and work on optimising project management in international teams. This initiative was launched in 2007 with Assystem City Car, presented at the 2007 and 2008 International Motor Show in Geneva.
