Developing Euro 6-compliant engine control strategies
Your challenge :
Like all carmakers, Renault has to adapt its engines to European Union emission standards. Following on from Euro 5, the Euro 6 stage, which comes into force in 2014, introduces even tighter standards, in particular by covering a wider range of pollutant gases. To meet these requirements, Renault is developing new engine control strategies, both for an innovative new engine and for existing powerplants. This work entails extensive research and tests, such as benchmarking, testing technological solutions, validating the selected technologies, modelling, and building prototypes before commercial production.
